Project Description

In collaboration with Interplast Nepal, Interburns: Rotary Club of Pashupati and Sankhu jointly conducted a Community Burn Prevention and First Aid Training. Dr. Santosh Bhandari (President of Interplast Nepal), Mr. Anil Dhital (Regional Manager (Interburns UK) and Ms. Shanta Mahara (Nursed) presented 3 Hours of Training to 42 participants. The participants were divided into different groups for workshop where they presented their understanding about the reasons and ways out to be safe form Burn Cases. The cost of the program reached 90,000 Rupees.
As discussed there are almost 60,000 Burn Cases in Nepal yearly and 21,00 people lose their lives due to Burn Cases. The program went fabulous as participants could understand the scenario, difficulties and challenges of Burn cases in Nepal. High Cost in treatment, lack of proper hospitals and proper budget allocation were considered the major challenges.
This program in fact opened the eyes to everyone in regard to safety and security of using fire in daily cases. Even if Burn case, took place: how to survive, what to do and what not to do were properly guided to the participants. Stop, Drop and Roll, Use Running Water, Use Jeevan Jal while bringing hospital, removal of clothes in a proper way etc. were the most effective take away message. At least a person can teach a family and the family members can spread the message to the relatives. The Participants were awarded with Certificates and the presenters were honored with Token of Love by the Presidents of RC Pasupati and Sankhu.
Thanks
